Chapter Text
Bunnies and tulips surrounded Abel’s vision. The blonde hummed amusingly to himself, this was definitely a dream. Not that he minds though, he enjoyed it. As he was about to pet one of the bunnies, a loud ringing surrounded him. The bunnies were running away and the tulips started to fly away. It was horrific . He then woke up and realized it was his phone. He looked at his phone screen and it was a call from Dirga. He checked the time and it was 12 AM. Jakarta was 5 hours ahead, so it was 5 AM there. Why would Dirga call him at such an hour, Abel thought. He was calling, so it might be something important.
“Hello?” the blonde asked with a raspy voice.
“Abelll!!!” Dirga screamed into his phone. That noise made Abel on the other hand move his ear away from the screen,
“Stop screaming! Don’t you know what time it is here!? What do you need?”
“ I-tu… A-anu, I’m scared!”, the brunette’s voice shaked. There was brief silence as Abel had to take in what he just heard,
“So… You’ve woken me in the middle of the night because you’re scared. I’ve had enough of this shit. Goodby-”
Before the blonde could hang up his phone, Dirga speaked out again, “ Tunggu! Don’t hang up, please! I’m sorry. It’s just that I tried calling everybody else and they’re not answering me. Temenin bentar .”
Abel notices that the other was very desperate , so he just sighed, “ Yasudah . Let me guess, you watched horror films again. Right?”
Crackling sounds could be heard on the phone, Dirga was probably shifting himself on the couch. “ G-gak kok… ” he replied.
“ Bohong . I don’t get why you still watch those things, despite being fucking scared of it. Just stop watching it!” Abel complained as he rubbed his tired eyes.
The shorter nation tried to explain his situation, “Don’t tell me what to do! That’s exactly why I’m watching it because… Uh, I want to build tolerance towards it. Then, I’ll not be scared of ghosts anymore.”
“Well… It’s clearly not working!” Abel now also screams into his phone and has suddenly realized something, “Hold on, it’s 5 AM there. Why the hell are you watching horror in the morning?”
“ Eh… It’s 5 AM!?” Dirga exclaimed, surprised. More crackling is heard on the other hand.
“Dirga… Did you stay up all night watching horror movies?” Abel facepalmed while still sitting on his bed.
“I-I didn’t mean to! I have not realized it’s already this early, “ The shorter nation sounded like he was panicking.
“Well, great… Since it’s fucking 12 AM here and you have not had a single wink of sleep, it’s probably a good time for us to sleep now,” Abel reasoned with the other man. Dirga back home was covering himself with a sarung from head to toe on the living room sofa,
“...You see, I would. But…”
“ Wat ?” Abel asked in an annoyed tone.
“ Masih takut …”, the other whispered. Abel facepalmed even harder . How the hell can he put up with this man? He found it rather silly that despite having quite a serious face, Dirga gets scared very easily.
“If I was there right now, I would be covering your face with a pillow and force you to sleep,” Abel blurted out without thinking.
“Are you trying to kill me!?” Dirga screamed.
Abel teasingly replied, “No, but that’s a great idea as well.”
Dirga shivered at the thought of Abel menacingly coming up to him with a large miffy head pillow. “You know what. I’m not scared anymore.”, the shorter nation said.
“Huh? Have you suddenly overcome your fear of ghosts?” Abel asked, quite surprised. That was quick, he thought.
“ Belum . But, I found something scarier,” Dirga answered.
“Oh really? What is it?” Abel continued.
“It’s you... Sudah ah! You can go back to sleep now. Oh and thank you for answering my stupid call. Welterusten, Abel.” the other finally decided to end the call. The blonde sighed in relief that he can finally continue his beauty sleep,
“ Ja...Slaap lekker, Dirga.”
*beep* The call had ended. The blonde put his phone back to his bedside table and positioned himself in bed. There was something odd though as he kept hearing the words ‘
Welterusten,
Abel’ over and over again as he tried to go back to sleep. He grunted in frustration. In the end, Abel was not able to get enough sleep and had dark circles under his eyes.
