Summary
When Richie was twenty-five years old, he took all the money he saved by going to community college and working rather than go to grad school like the rest of his friends, and he bought a bar. He gets a neon sign that says TOP ME Off and decides that’ll be the name of the place, and it all spirals from there. Now, Richie’s in his thirties and TOP ME Off is one of the most successful bars on his block. Since he’s actually stable with roots and a house and a business and all that now, he decides it’s time to start looking for someone to actually share it with.
Lucky for him, he’s looking for someone the night one of the handsomest guys he’s ever seen walks into the bar. Bill had been talking while Richie was cleaning out glasses behind the bar, but he trails off when he realizes Richie’s stopped paying even a shred of attention to him.
It’s not really Richie’s fault. The guy in the suit is just so fucking hot, it’s stupid.

Summary
Richie saw Eddie, fell in love with Eddie and kidnapped Eddie all in the same week.

“We’re meant to be. And I was serious about him not belonging here. No. Promise. Come on, he fucking wears sweaters. This town will eat him alive like it did to us and he will not come out the other side. I can promise you that, Stan, because we’ve seen it happen,” Richie pleaded, knowing it would get through to him. Stan made a face. They had. Many times. Children either ended up like them, Greta or Georgie.
He nodded. “I’ll help you.”
“You can think of it as an early birthday present."
“You’re so stupid."

It’s not the first time Eddie’s shown up at Richie’s window at a bad time, but this might just take the cake.
Or: accidental sex, miscommunications, teenage obliviousness, and how to realize you're in love with your best friend.
