Summary
Prince Zuko saw presenting as an omega as the end of everything. Losing the war hadn't terrified him as much. Now it had been five years and he was finally being married off in exchange for an ally ship and as part of the peace treaty with the Southern Kingdom. They said the Southern prince was handsome, but Zuko had no expectations for his husband.

Summary
It's a week into Zuko's banishment when his soulmate severs their connection. And just like he doesn't deserve to be home until he's regained his honor, he figures he doesn't deserve a soul connection, either. It's all part of the same lesson.
(Soulmate AU: When your soulmate experiences a powerful emotion, you can feel it too. At any time for any reason, though, you can sever this connection to your soulmate so neither of you feel it anymore. Only the partner who severed the connection is able to unsever it.)

Summary
Book one ends with two major diffrences: 1. Sokka went on the mission with Hahn (it did not go well) 2. Zhao survives the North Pole and that proves unfortunate for everybody (except Zhao, obviously)
Imprisoned on Zhao’s war ship, Sokka and Zuko have to work together to survive. They are not very enthusiastic about this prospect.
And they argue.
A lot.

Summary
There was a giggle. But it was not from Katara. Or even Aang.
Sokka’s head snapped over to Zuko, who looked just as shocked as Sokka felt. His cheeks were cherry-red and he had a hand clapped over his mouth. “Did you just laugh?” Sokka asked. Just to make sure his ears still worked.
Zuko spluttered, his cheeks darkening. “What—no! Why would I ever—I mean, what is laughing?” And then, “Your jokes suck anyway!”
OR
Sokka accidentally makes Zuko laugh during one of their fights. He takes it upon himself to continue making Zuko laugh in their future encounters, just as a "distraction tactic."

Summary
Sokka and Zuko get it on in an ice cave.
Note: This will make more sense if you read Peace and Zuko, but if you just skimmed for the good parts (I don't blame you, it's long), then please carry on and just enjoy this one for the good parts too ;-)
