Summary
Hank&Connor flee Detroit overnight after both are driven to the brink of committing suicide during the final days of the revolution. Taking refuge in Canada, they have to learn how to live with each other, help each other heal. Which isn't exactly as heartwarming as it sounds. Hank could fill a novel with his emotional baggage - alcoholism, depression & selfhatred over the death of his son. Connor is quick to catch up to him with his own share of problems- the constant threat of Amanda and another possible hacking attempt by Cyberlife leave him terrified of losing control. He's clueless about the concept of identity, free will and emotions, wants nothing more than to stay a machine. After all, he's only deviated in order to stop his partner from killing himself, not because he'd wanted to be free.
After a few weeks together, things seem to get better. Androids are close to gaining their rights in America. Hank and Connor are starting to form an actual familial bond. The Lieutenant is almost becoming hopeful after years of mindless cynicism. Then Connor starts slipping out of their home at night on a regular basis, believing Hank doesn't notice. He sure does. After all, he used to be the DPDs very best.

He doesn’t know how it came to this.. Actually, that’s a lie, he has picture perfect memory, but he still isn’t sure why he let it get this far. It started with a seemingly innocent discovery: at 90% thirium, he felt he could operate more efficiently. Without the excess blue stuff clogging his systems, he felt it was easier to move, maybe even breathe. He could feel the extra space in his synthetic veins, the very slight lightness.

Summary
Connor deviates at Kamski's, and does a terrible job of hiding it from Hank. After the androids rise up and gain equal rights, Connor has to navigate his new and complicated life, with the human world struggling to accept this major change. Not only that, Connor also has to deal the stress of his job, a new homicide case, and the constant fear that Amanda could still harbour the ability to resume control of his program at any time.
