Summary
The sun finishes its descent, clouds stained deep wine purple and fading rose pink.
Zagreus breathes out slowly, not quite a sigh but deeper than a usual exhale.
“That was different from it rising,” he admits. “I don't know if it was entirely your intent, but this has all been quite romantic, Hypnos. A handcrafted shore? A day of fishing? The sunset? Aphrodite would be impressed, if not worried you're going to put her out of a job.”
“I don't need to impress her,” Hypnos says dismissively, “just you.”
(Technically an epilogue to my other work, Sleep Schism, but also absolutely can be read as a standalone. In fact, I encourage it; Schism is rather long, but this is probably the perfect little fix most people are looking for- much more bite sized.)

Summary
Hypnos has his golden eyes riveted on the fishing lure, but he's staring right past it. The pole is lax in his hands.
Zagreus knows, from centuries spent around Hypnos to varying degrees, that the guy sometimes just gets like that. A little spacey, a little airy, a little impermanent and intangible like a- well, like a dream. Something wispy and immaterial, somehow physically present and yet not here at all.
The problem is, he's been doing it a lot more lately.

Summary
When it comes to their relationship, Hypnos is pleased to announced Zagreus is an attentive lover. One of the only problems — which isn't much of a problem at all, really, but does pose some concern — is that he rarely, if ever, sleeps. As a matter of fact, Hypnos can't remember the last time Zagreus got some rest. So he resolves to teach Zagreus how sleep can do him a great deal of good. (That, and provide the perfect opportunity for some experimentation in the bedroom.)
