Nostalgia time! I’ve loved this beauty for a long while now. Truthfully, though I love canon, I can’t help but think that Harry having stable adults earlier in his life could have been nothing but good. This is a shining example of what I like in an AU, still in the canon universe mostly just how different events would have affected the overall story. I love the characterizations and the slow build of Sirius’ and Remus’ relationship. Snape in this is also a treat, and then, of course, little Harry is cuteness.

This is probably closer to what I was expecting out of His Last Vow, though admittedly without the sexy times. Season 3 was a real disappointment for me and I think others. I’ve been avoiding stories that take it into account too, mostly because I can’t stand stories that feature infidelity. In this one, though the relationship doesn’t move forward before John’s trust is shattered and he makes his choice.
