And then he spotted the Robin boots a couple feet ahead, and relief gave way to panic. Just a little ahead of them was his mask. Fuck. Robin never took off his mask. Ever. If Tim had, there had to be a reason.
Jason felt the anxiety wash over him.
Then a muffled hitched sob from the alley nearby caught his attention. Jason went over and found the owner of the sound hiding behind the dumpsters.
He first saw a mop of raven black hair; and then a colorful suit, hanging off of one shoulder. His pants were barely still on, his feet were bare. The kid looked up with crystal blue eyes and immediately pressed back into the wall with a squeak upon seeing him. A sob broke out.
“P-Please d-don’t hurt me.” He begged, his words wet and barely audible.
Jason stared back at a nine-year-old Tim Drake, and contemplated what he was going to do. -

Summary
Jason realizes how truly bad they've messed up with Tim. Realizes just how blind they've all been to Tim's pain. Rather than risk losing his brother again he decides he, and the rest of his emotionally stunted family (plus Cass who is an angel) are going to fix things before it's too late.
Takes place concurrently with A Clone Boy's Worst Nightmare as spin off/background chapters that expand the universe a bit without warranting a feature in the original fic.

Jason feels the tension fall completely out of his shoulders. Babyest bird is not feeling unsafe, right now; Tim doesn’t get this bitchy around people unless he trusts them.
Random civilians and corporate fuckwits, they get soft-spoken, laughing Timothy Drake. Anyone Tim’s not quite comfortable with-- people he has to impress, like the Justice League-- get the world’s most perfect and efficient Robin. Seriously, it’s terrifying. He wears his competency like a sword and doesn’t bother with a shield.
So, a snarky Tim-- a Tim who lashes out, without regard for if he’ll be hit back-- is a trusting Tim. A comfortable Tim.
