Welcome to Jazz Week 2026! This is a character fest week that originally started in 2020 and is back for its SEVENTH year!

Q: What can I post for Jazz Week?
A: Any kind of fanwork goes! Fic, art, photography, interpretative baking, sewing, plush making, quilting, whatever! We welcome any kind of fanwork!

Q: How do you feel about NSFW?
A: NSFW is fine. Dark content is also fine. Tag everything appropriately and we'll be golden.

Q: I'm busy during the week that the event is running. Can I post early/late?
A: Sure, but the AO3 collection won't open til the 19th, so you'll want to add it later if you want your piece in there. And if you're posting late, that just prolongs the fun. The collection will close, though, two weeks before Jazz Week 2026 starts.

Q: Is this event only on (insert site)?

Hey there, Autobots, Decepticons and gentlebeings of all persuasions! Moderator eerian_sadow here to give a few more details for Jazz Week, where we celebrate the smoothest, coolest cat ever produced by Hasbro.

Jazz Week, or Autobot Jazz Week to keep confusion among the music festival crowd to a minimum, is a themed prompt week that runs from July 19 through July 25, 2026. This might overlap with at least one other fandom challenge, but I haven't heard of any others this year.

BUT!!

If I'm wrong, you can absolutely overlap your challenges. I don’t expect anyone to turn out two or three or more pieces per day, so please double or triple dip for THIS challenge. After all, it’s fine to wear the same dress to more than one party. ;) AND this is an “All Fanworks Welcome” challenge! Whether you paint, draw, write, knit or make floral arrangements, any fanwork that celebrates Jazz is happily welcomed here. The most important thing is that you are having fun! (We're also all ratings, so tag/warn accordingly, please!)

Like most theme weeks, we have some prompts! This year, they are:

and we added a new-to-us concept, Wild Card Prompts!
2026 Wild Card Prompts:

The prompts are presented in pairs, one lighter and one darker, and you are welcome to take inspiration from one or the other or both or neither! (Again, the fun is the point.) Wild card prompts are for you to switch in for another prompt during the week if you don't like or aren't inspired by the existing prompts. You are not required to use Wild Card Prompts if you don't want to.
