Summary
Lex protects Clark because it feels like his destiny to do it. Hour by hour, Lex does what he needs to in order to cover up the things Clark's doing in Metropolis. He sees the rage, the anger, the bone-deep agony that's creating Clark's actions in the way his eyes gleam in the night. He sees the frustration of a man always restrained tugging at the limits.
