Enter Lan Sizhui, who’s secretly in love with Jin Ling, trying his hardest to be happy for his best friend while nursing his wounded heart. With Jiang Wanyin starting to develop unsolicited feelings for his nephew's suitor and Wei Wuxian sticking his fingers into everyone’s affairs, things get very, very messy.
* Post-canon. Takes place a few years after Jin Ling inherits the sect. The junior quartet are now in their twenties.

Summary
Jiang Cheng, hailed in the cultivation world as Jiang Wanyin, the fearless leader of the mighty Yunmeng-Jiang sect and a major contributor in the Sunshot Campaign, is a very highly achieved man. Most would consider him stoic and unmovable, hard and set as the stones of the mountains. He has shown no real interest in romance, only absolute ability in combat and administration. Paired with his fierce temper, one can easily label him a man of objectivity.
This all until one day, when Jiang Wanyin decides to flex his muscles in the art of courtship – on behalf of his insufferable nephew, Jin Ling.
TL;DR: Jiang Cheng sets Jin Ling up on a date with Lan Sizhui. Ouyang Zizhen gets in the way.

At that, Lan Sizhui had turned around to face Jin Ling sitting behind him on the couch, blinked twice, and promptly said, “okay.” And, “it’s a date then.”
To which Jin Ling’s eyes had widened, heart coming to a sudden stop in his chest when the realization of exactly what he’d just set into motion hit him in full force. But, unable to back down from a challenge ever (even for the sake of his sanity), he had gritted his teeth and forced out gruffly, “fine. Friday at 6 work for you?”
And Lan Sizhui (gorgeous, gentle and way, way out-of-Jin-Ling’s-league Lan Sizhui) had just given him a long look (filled with a million different things that Jin Ling had no way of deciphering) before simply agreeing.
