Summary
“You are, from what I’ve gathered so far, one of the most famous legends from where you came from”, Wen Kexing said with not an ounce of wonder in his voice, matter-of-factly. “I happen to have a tumultuous background, so to speak”, he winked quickly, “and also a husband who enjoys way too much sending me off to deal with the city’s matters, and I think he would be delighted if I showed him just what I found this time. What do you think about being my guest for sharing stories over food and wine, from one legend to another?"

Summary
He turns them over in his mind. Jiang Yanli and the Jin clan heir. His father and mother. He and Wei Wuxian. What they are. What it means.
The dancing lights that materialize when they touch. The music that seems to hang in the air between them.
Their golden cores. Pairs of cultivators.
Zhiyin.
Zhiji. Zhixin. Soulmates.
Lan Wangji understands now why his sect, his uncle, had been so ashamed of it. Why they do not speak of it in the Cloud Recesses. His father’s soulmate was a woman who killed Lan sect cultivators. Jiang Yanli’s soulmate is a man who does not want her, who does not even like her.
And Lan Wangji’s soulmate is the most disruptive, undisciplined, loud-mouthed troublemaker the Cloud Recesses has ever seen.

Summary
Since he was a child, since Lan Wangji had first become aware of his own alienating effect on others, he has long resigned himself to a loveless marriage. Perhaps even a companionate one, so long as his partner was agreeable and unbothersome and let him have his own space.
He could not have even begun to predict Wei Wuxian.
(A canonverse arranged marriage fic.)

Summary
Lan Wangji follows silently as they enter the cave. The silence between them stretches but Wen Qing doesn’t offer any more information to fill it. Lan Wangji can hear faint clattering, the rustle of paper and once he can make out the light coming from the main cavern, a hissed “fuck.”.
“Wei Wuxian.” Wen Qing says. She is intentionally heavy in her steps and her footsteps echo louder as a result.
“What? Is something wrong?”
“Your Hanguang-Jun has come to pay you a visit.” Wen Qing stops them before they round the corner.
“Hangua— Fuck!” The loud clattering increases followed by the sound of a drawer slamming shut. There's a loud crash from inside that makes Lan Wangji wince. A metal disk rolls around the corner and circles Lan Wangji’s foot before falling and rattling around with another horrible sound. “Uh— Tell him I’m not here. That I went out to run some errands. I'll come around the back entrance and show him the way out in a few minutes, I just need to—”
“Wei Ying.” Lan Wangji says.
“Fuck! Wen Qing! I didn’t think you meant he was right beside you! why didn’t you say something?!”
