Summary
Shane Hollander has always been good at following rules.
On his first week as a correctional officer, he learns that rules are easier to follow when there's no one worth breaking them for.
Ilya Rozanov has been a prisoner long enough to know exactly how far he can push people and exactly what happens when they push back.
Shane is supposed to keep his distance. Ilya is supposed to stay in line.
Neither of them is particularly good at doing what they're supposed to.

Summary
Ilya wakes up disoriented and overly hot. He blinks his eyes open and slowly comes back to the land of the living as he notices that he isn't even tucked under the blanket. Then why is it so damn hot? The answer lies in the omega lying half on top of him.
"Oh shit," Ilya mumbles, realizing that Shane is burning like a furnace. "Hollander? Hollander, can you hear me? Shane?"
The only response he gets is a garbled whimper, half-buried in Ilya's chest.
"Okay, you said heat was bad, let's knot you again, will make the fever go down," Ilya says and slides his hand between Shane's thighs to his wet hole. He doesn't get much further before Shane clamps his legs shut, closing his eyes with a pained expression.
"What is happening?" Ilya asks into the room as Shane starts sobbing and writhing on the bed._________________
When Shane has to get off his suppressants for medical reasons, he is advised to spend his next heat with an alpha, otherwise the strain on his body might leave permanent damage. When he asks Rozanov, he tries to explain the severity of his heats, but the alpha thinks he is overreacting, expecting a week of easy heat-sex. He should have believed the omega when he warned him.

“I’m aware. But it’s fun,” she replied, and Shane could feel the tiniest push of pressure as the fake jewelry clicked together through the thin web of skin. She stepped back, crossing her arms and assessing. “Wait. Shane. It’s actually really hot.”

Ilya cranes his neck as best he can with Shane latched onto him like this and truly studies him. Takes in where Shane's pressed up against him, back to gripping wildly at his thigh; where he's fairly sure, even in the low light of the bar and beneath the table, Shane is half-hard. And then, when he glances upwards, he finds Shane looking back at him, and it's with a sharp bolt of feeling that Ilya notices his eyes. Darkened and wide and syrupy.

Ilya looks directly at blue eyes identical to his own—so intimately familiar and somehow also dazedly distinct—as he tightens his grip and growls into Shane’s ear. “We will both fuck you at the same time. He can feel Shane shiver underneath his palm, one hand rising up to caress reverently at Ilya’s fingers around his neck, his words trembling and broken into a shallow, breathless rasp.
