Hitman Karl Heisenberg is set up to take out a target that was meant to do the same to him.
Saved by Umbrella Corp, he becomes a voluntary experiment for the company in order to avoid forced hospitalization or incarceration.
While coping with his loss of freedom and new biology, Alpha Karl spots a cute blond at the nearby coffee shop.
As things develop quickly between the two the opportunity to take things to the next level arises.
Along with a new set of issues that were previously their private problems come to light.
For Karl that's his secret life with Umbrella.

Instead he poked around Heisenberg's garage and finds a mysterious device.
He promptly coats himself in a strange fluid from the canister in time for Heisenberg to find him.

Summary
A little over a year after the events of the village, Chris Redfield is more miserable than ever. Each day feels like it eats away at him, like his motivation is all but gone. Like it died back in Africa with his former Captain.
