They live together under Chris' supervision for protection.
Heisenberg may not have an underground facility but he has a workshop in the garage.Ethan's just trying to find his lost gas can.
Instead he poked around Heisenberg's garage and finds a mysterious device.
He promptly coats himself in a strange fluid from the canister in time for Heisenberg to find him.

Summary
