Finding myself getting drawn into this fandom mostly because of Fukuyama Masaharu's performance as Hiko Seijuro. I went in search of fic and found this very intriguing, and thoroughly enjoyable 'what if' series. I can see this totally happening between the characters involved, but what I really liked about it was how the author wove traditional and common Japanese foods into the narrative as a theme for each chapter and how foods bring people together for just about anything. Plus it had a lovely, long, slow burning, simmer going on between the two main characters that just added to the love! Read it, its totally worth it.
