There was only one thing that Annabel Lee knew for certain, and it was that she loved Lenore to the ends of the world and back.
Nothing could ever stop her from loving her pet so, and her longing and desire only grew each day they spent apart, watching each other from either side of the rift between them. They weren’t supposed to be together, forbidden love that was never meant to be, and yet, here they were, tantalisingly close yet oh so far from each other. Opposite sides of the classroom, merely brushing past each other in the hallways with hidden lingering touches - yearning glances thrown across the dining hall - they were opposites in every way, destined to watch each other from afar with only stolen moments in between for comfort.
And Annabel had felt Lenore watching her all day.

Annabel collapsed dramatically back against Lenore's shoulder, resting the back of her hand against her forehead for theatrics. "I can't believe it," she pouted. "Does that mean I won't get my Christmas wish?"
Lenore hummed in thought. "Dunno. I guess you'll have to prove yourself worthy of it tonight."
"And how shall I do that?"
"Well, how about a dance?" Lenore suggested. Annabel glanced over to the students who were dancing with one another and enjoying the night, listening to the orchestral holiday music.
"A dance? That's all?" Annabel asked genuinely.
Lenore chuckled. "Of course, sweetheart. After all, from what I've been told, I'm irresistible and have an incredible ass."

Summary
Annabel stared down at her with a sense of longing. Watching as the woman next to her breathed evenly, snoring lightly. She appeared beautifully in Annabel's eyes. Her long lashes, her sharp features, her raven colored hair… Everything about her is perfect to Annabel. She wished that Lenore could realize just how beautiful she is.
She couldn't resist the urge to brush her fingers through her black and white hair. Eventually, her hand found itself cupping the other's cheek, her thumb gliding back and forth. Lenore hummed, leaning into the blonde's hold.
