Just before their arrive at Erid, Rocky is seriously injured, leaving him unconscious. Grace, only able to speak a few Eridian words, has to contact Erid without his best friend’s help.
Thankfully, everyone is incredibly patient with him. Much more so than he was expecting. But why is everyone so concerned about his health?

Summary
On their way back to Erid, Rocky and Grace discover a mysterious box. Upon opening it, the two discover some strange changes. Well, perhaps way more than strange.
Rocky finds a new marking on his arm similar to Grace's scar, and Grace finds markings similar to Rocky's on his arms and legs.
Rocky begins to dream and can easily wake from sleep, and Grace can stay up for much longer than a normal human should.
Grace starts seeing sound when it's too dark to properly see, and Rocky starts seeing pops of colour in his sound vision.
Neither can understand what's happening to them and how they're seemingly linked together, but they know there's nothing in the world that could tear them apart.
(TLDR: This fic will include almost everyone's favourite things! Rocky learns about how Grace got on the Hail Mary (Including Rocky witnessing the memory of Grace being sent on the Hail Mary)! Grace can survive in Rocky's atmosphere! Grace will live as long as Rocky! Rocky and Adrian reuinite and Adrian meets Grace! Grace will get to go back to Earth with Rocky (for a bit and then go back to Erid)! Grace will get to confront and get closure with Stratt! Fanart included!)

Erid had lost hope of the crew they sent to space ever returning. And then they spot a different ship coming towards them and a pebble talking to them over the radio about how they and Rocky found the solution to the star-killer problem. Chaos, of course, ensues.

Grace and Rocky had never spoken about ages during their trip to Erid-- such a simple fact that was never brought up in their four years of travel. Rocky had assumed it was fine, there's no way Earth wouldn't send an adult.

Summary
Adrian (and a couple of others) are fully aware that Grace is an adult, but there is a reason that Rocky sent a secret message to Adrian with far more information than the one he sent to the government. They can keep on thinking Grace (and the surprise human) are pebbles, it gives Adrian more leverage than they realize.
Rocky will not wake up to their friend being locked away if Adrian has anything to say about it, and Adrian has a lot to say.

Rocky doesn't want Grace to die. His life is so much shorter than an Eridian! He needs to fix it! So, he asks Grace if he's willing to allow Rocky and the biodome team to work on a solution. Grace accepted! Yay!
They do a few random tests, but nothing seems to work.
One day, Rocky comes into the biodome to hangout...
Why is Grace so small? Why is Grace a child? Oh. Oh God they're crying oh no.
Or, they experiment on Grace to try and get him to live longer, Grace turns into a child
