Summary
Pronouncements and diatribes were things performed strictly by villains. Acted out in overconfidence after cornering prey, a premature celebration of victory in a battle not yet won.
It was a slap in the face of destiny, which had a mouth with many teeth.
And all of them were happy to bite back.
It was why Riku said nothing when he had Xehanort’s younger self looking down the end of his keyblade, close enough to pick up on the inky scent of darkness that dripped from him.

Riku gave Sora that look he had been giving him a lot lately. His lips curving up into half-smile, his eyes going soft. Sora tilted his head. Had Riku always looked at him like this?
Only days after Sora returns from his 7-month mission to rescue Kairi, the Heartless start acting up again, and Sora begins to have mysterious nightmares. Sora and Riku set out on a quest for answers.
A story about finally getting to travel the worlds with your best friend, learning to handle the darkness inside your heart, and slowly figuring out all of these confusing feelings.

Riku was ashamed. Ashamed that he was hiding but he couldn't go back, not like this. Not after he failed to stop Sora from being taken over by Xehanort. Kairi was probaly looking for him. Probaly wondering where her only other childhood friend was that wasn't taken over by darkness, except he was.

It’s one month before Riku manages to escape.
That’s how long it’s taken him to convince Sora to give him just a bit of freedom - a month of letting Sora kiss him, stroke his hair, press his body against the sheets and go pliant and submissive while Sora does whatever he wants. He’s even learned how to play along: to smile at Sora and kiss him back, arch into his touch and press his lips against Sora’s ear to whisper that he loves him, adores, will never ever leave him.
