Eddie reached a hand out and gently tucked his fingers under Steve’s chin, tilting it upwards and turning Steve’s face just a little to the side as he observed something on Steve’s face with a look of intense speculation. Steve couldn’t say for certain, but there was almost a tiny bit of anger there just along the edges, like he was stifling away anger at whatever it was that he was looking at.

Steve is a Bartender working with his best friend Robin at 'The Upside Down' a music venue where a popular up and coming band called "Corroded Coffin" is set to play. Steve is struggling, he's had a rough life and after having just gotten out of a highly toxic and abusive relationship he finds himself needing to catch his breath out back where a kind stranger comforts him.

Just as he begins to untangle his headphones, small hands with messy purple nail polish land on his leg.
He looks up. In front of him stands a little—kid, with dark hair that frames their face with tight little curls. Their hair is haphazardly pulled back with bright green clips and their dinosaur shirt hangs baggy on their thin shoulders. No older than six, they examine him with huge, dark eyes. He cocks his head and smiles as the child mimics him.
“Samwise the Brave, what have I said about running away from Daddy like that, huh?”
He looks up from the brown eyes in front of him and meets a nearly-identical pair.
He blinks. “Eddie?”
Eddie Munson, nine years older, hair just as long, curling around his shoulders—those are broader than they to be—blinks back. “Steve?”---

Summary
Eddie is very thankful that he still has on his sunglasses because Steve is showing more skin than Eddie has ever seen, even during his basketball days at Hawkins High. He’s wearing a white cropped Tears for Fears shirt and possibly the smallest blue shorts ever created. He’s got his hands on his hips and it draws Eddie’s attention to the scars lining his sides on full display. He’s almost wearing them like a badge of honor, refusing to cover them up like this. He wants people to know he fought and survived, it makes Eddie's stomach flip thinking about how that bravery was part of the reason he's even here.
