In this AU of the My Stand In world (based on the thai series not the novel) Ming and not Joe is shot and has the choice to come back or move on. When he chooses to walk through the door, he finds a surprise waiting for him, a chance to rectify at least some of his mistakes with Joe, although not all of them. *author's note* In writing this AU I have always kept in mind one interview I saw of Up and Poom (one of the few they did mostly in English or with a translator) where Up summarized MSI by saying: "It's very human". I've tried to make my story as human as possible because I always agreed with that assessment of the story. At its core, it is about humans being human and making very human choices. If you like my story, please feel free to use the comment section to discuss what you like about it, which characters are your faves and other notes you have. Ming snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Joe with a miserable expression.
