Every mouse in the palace is dormant in their nest, the cheeses safe. Marketplaces that would have seen the daily rush are quiescent, apples tumbling from their pyramids. Even his father, the King, is escorted far away in his resting mind on winged chariots of gold.
Happiness becomes someone Thor chases and waits for, annually, caught within this fantastic euphoria.
Thor grows each year, more handsome than the last, and a smarter lad than before to be sure. Loki is pleased that his blessings have borne fruit and will become riper still.
