Summary
Getting a text to meet at the gym from Ace isn't odd for Yuu. What is odd is seeing that Ace is alone, missing all his shots, and with no Deuce in sight. Perhaps their friend's missing presence can explain Ace's strange behavior and anxiety. That along with a very familiar blue and black jacket lying on the bleachers.
A simple text leads to Ace figuring out stuff about himself that he probably should've known sooner. Luckily, his best friend, Yuu is there to lend a hand. Oh, and Grim is there too.

“If it doesn’t let up I’m running back to the dorm.” Deuce stated, Ace’s eyes widened.
“How do you expect to do that? Riddle will kill you if you track water in the dorm.” Ace nearly yelled in shock. Deuce wasn’t phased and looked over at Ace, his makeup now severely smudged.
“You’re good with wind magic are you not?”
“You’re not expecting me to run in the rain? I’m fairly dry and would like to keep it that way, thank you.” Ace adjusted his jacket to add flair to his response. Deuce just stared, Ace sputtered the longer he looked.

Deuce’s plan was a simple, 3-step one.
Step 1: Get Ace into town as soon as classes ended so they could “window shop” (but in reality, Deuce would buy something Ace said he liked; he’d been saving for a while now!).
Step 2: Take Ace to a nice restaurant using a “free meal for two!” ticket he’d won in a lottery.
Step 3: Present Ace with his gift… And maybe kiss him.He liked kissing Ace. And it wasn’t like he planned it everytime! Most times he didn’t, because Ace made fun of him once he’d found out that he would plan their kisses... But it didn’t hurt to remind himself that he definitely, definitely wanted to kiss Ace by the end of his birthday.

Ace gave Deuce a sidelong glance, tapping his pen in his left hand. Scrawls of failed attempts to write in his non-dominant hand stretched over several sheets of paper, and some of the papers pushed against his and Deuce’s interlocked hands on the table. “Uh, maybe? I think so?"

“Are we snowed in?”
He turned to Ace, taking in the worried expression on the other's face. He nodded back at him, plopping to the ground.
