Ryland Grace thought that once he had given his life on Earth away to live on Erid, he would never see another human ever again. But he was proven wrong the day Rocky burst through his front door with news that they found another human in a small submersible on a weird moon.
I just wanna say I'm grateful for everyone leaving kudos! I also wanna apologise for how slow everything is being released, I'm only 16, so I balance school, homework, assessments, and work. I'm trying my hardest and i'll try to actually finish this bc ive never had a finished book or fanfic before!

Summary
Iron Lung meets Project Hail Mary. After spotting the floating remnants of the Iron lung from the Hail Mary on Grace and Rocky's journey back to Erid, Grace insists on bringing it with them.
Grace gets on his space suit and goes and tethers it to the hail Mary. Rocky uses his ship to manufacture a link with the iron lung and they manage to pry open the window shield to reveal someone inside.
They manage to cut open the iron lung and get its sole passenger to med bay and have Armando stabilize him until they get to Erid.
Simon barely comes to, but just manages to make out Graces sillouette in front of a bright light, before falling unconscious and kept in a stable coma for the rest of the trip.
How will these two Patron Saints of One Way Trips learn to cohabitate on a completely foreign world? Will Simon be able to adapt to living a more stable, civilian lifestyle? Will Simons shadows stay behind him and not destroy the life he will build for himself?
Will both of these lonely humans be able to find solace and acceptance being the only human souls on the edge of a foreign galaxy? Only time will tell.

Summary
Two weeks after the disaster of a conference that was meant to be his academic victory run and the successful start of the rest of his life as a molecular biologist, Ryland Grace escapes to one of Washington’s state parks. Hiding away in his twin brother’s cabin, Ryland has to come to terms with the fact that the life he worked so hard for had slipped right through his fingers because his ego had been larger than his logical brain, and now he’s haunted by a community of scientists and online enthusiasts yearning to run what little is left of his dignity into the ground.
But as a hike, one fuelled mostly by spite because obviously he didn’t learn his lesson just yet, goes south, he’s forced to call the rangers for help. And because life hates him, the ranger who told him not to wander into the woods is the one to take his call.
Something about ranger Simon’s disapproving and definitely disappointed look cuts deeper than he anticipated.
