Summary
Forty-eight hours.
Hizashi knew that was how long since he'd last slept. It'd been even longer since he'd been home. Everyone needed Present Mic. The radio station needed him to pull in record listenership numbers. The school needed him to teach English to eager students. The world needed him to fight villains and keep everyone safe. Present Mic was being pulled in every direction. There was no room for Hizashi.
Shouta knew exactly how long it'd been, too. Counting the hours since Hizashi had been home was impossible, so he settled for counting the hours he knew Hizashi had been awake. Trying to help was futile and no matter what Shouta did to help, he couldn't shake the feeling of dread he had—and the feeling of panic that refused to leave him.
Hizashi was good at pushing himself when there was an end in sight. But—now there wasn't one, and Hizashi had to just keep pushing and pushing, making both himself and Shouta suffer.
Until it came to an end just after that forty-eight hour mark.

(Present Mic already adored this funky little kid in his Hero Merch, but if he kept getting his hands on info he wasn't supposed to have, well, he WOULD throw hands with Eraser over his Little Listener.)

So these flashes he'd been getting? Of all sorts of different scenery and eras and of Shouta? Well, if he couldn't have the real thing, Hizashi was more than happy to let his imagination run wild with whatever it wanted to come up with. And he really, really had thought it was his imagination.
There were a few times he'd even laugh and tell Shouta about the things his mind had come up with. “Once I imagined we were fishing together in this really murky pond!” or “Hey, I think you'd look so cool in Samurai armor – wha'do'ya think?” and even “Oh, oh, I had a dream the other day that I was a fancy noble and you were my bodyguard!”
Shouta always rolled his eyes and looked exasperated. Usually he scowled and told Hizashi to focus on the present, please and thank you. Hizashi laughed each time, but he enjoyed the day dreams too much. Shouta always looked at him so softly in them.
He never looked at him like that in real life.

Summary
After the death of his close friend Oboro, Hizashi is approached by the HPSC with an offer he can't refuse. The Hero Commission need somebody on the inside, a hero who can maintain their deep cover and take down criminals from the inside-- they need a villain.
