He’s met other Hounds before, but Gallagher is… strange when compared. He doesn’t belong here, that’s for sure. There’s something about him that remains distinct and separate. He talks of Penacony as if it were a game to be observed, not the land that he lives in; as if he’s drawn in by the wonder of something unknown and unfamiliar.
Sunday’s felt this before, this idea. Sometimes it’s a feeling of being watched. Sometimes it’s a glimpse into somewhere else, a little rift in space, a crack that leads elsewhere. Sunday hasn’t seen one since he was a child, but it was akin to waking from a dream—or, perhaps, dream-walking in a way.
Penacony is a simulation, and Gallagher is a Bloodhound, a man from the outside working within. He and Sunday have a prickly situation-- fuck buddies when they feel like it, where they both ignore their growing feelings. As the years pass, though, the Simulation begins to crumble, leaving Gallagher with one choice: does he tell Sunday the truth?
