Summary
He can hear Jisung stand up too, but he doesn’t turn around. Instead he lets his eyes close, only to find Jisung painted on the backs of his lids. It makes his hands shake.
“I’ve never met someone like you.”
Jisung shuffles forward before responding. “Hm? How am I different?”
Minho turns around. It’s painful to look at Jisung, a beacon right down the middle of the dark playground, but he does anyway. He thinks about the question for just a moment, because the words are already escaping him.
“You’re someone I can’t see through.”
Jisung laughs at that, eyes squishing up as every dimension of space around him glitters. “Well, I’m pleased to know that I’ve managed to hold your interest.”
Oh no, you’ve known. You’ve known since that day in the library that I’m incapable of looking away.
Minho turns back around and tilts his head up. He focuses on the sky this time, vast and dark. Looking at the endless sky is easier than looking at Jisung, the labyrinth of a man.
A maze Minho has no chance of escaping.

Hyunjin never asked to spend his days terrified of his own senses. Jisung never asked to become a safety hazard to those he loved. Felix never asked to lose his best friend and his feeling of belonging. Seungmin never asked to feel weighted by his own abilities. And Jeongin never, ever asked to have that piece of metal in his hand.
Yet every one of them did.
And with all of their abilities, how was it that they felt so insignificant? And could that change once they were all brought together, by fate, or something more?

“Do you want me to stay in love with a memory?” Somewhere inside of Minho it feels like something has broken. “Someone who is real loves me, Innie. He can hold my hand and make me laugh and take care of me. Is it wrong for me to be loved?” Jeongin stays silent and Minho takes a breath. “I’ve moved on. I’m happy.”
Jeongin snorts, “If you’ve really moved on from hyung why haven’t you started drawing again? Why don’t you eat street food? If you’ve moved on why,” he grabs Minho’s left hand, holding it up, “do you still wear the ring hyung gave you?” He takes Minho’s other hand, “If you’ve moved on from hyung why do you wear his ring on your left hand while you wear Hyunjin-hyung’s ring on your right hand?” Jeongin drops his hands and stands up. “If you’ve moved on from hyung why do you still have pictures of him? Why do you call out for him in your sleep?”
Jeongin shakes his head, anger and disappointment in his eyes. “You still love him. You’ve been lying to yourself ever since you got together with Hyunjin. Call it a blessing or call it a curse, you’re never going to truly love anyone but Jisung-hyung, and that’s the truth.”
