Summary
As far as he could remember, Jerry had never been all that scared of heights. He was scared of plenty of stuff, and it wasn’t like he liked heights. But he’d hardly call himself… height-phobic or whatever the word for being really scared of heights was. He exercised a healthy caution around heights. He respected them, they respected him. He avoided the dangerous-looking ones and enjoyed the views from the less precarious ones.
Despite this general ambivalence to the fear of falling, Jerry still couldn’t exactly pinpoint when he’d become the kind of guy to hang out on his roof.
OR: Jerry goes out in search of some alone time to reconnect with nature, only to find his go-to spot unexpectedly and unwantedly occupied.
