Summary
I love you, Shane texted later, when he was home. No reply. Ilya must have been in the air. That was more likely than if he'd just stopped loving Shane. Probably. Definitely. (Unless Shane had fucking imagined it all. Had it even been real? How could Ilya Rozanov be in love with him?)
Or: Shane and Ilya navigate the fragile nature of a new relationship at long distance. Takes place during Ilya's last season in Boston, picking up when they leave the cottage and following them until the next summer.
Mostly canon compliant, with a pinch of fix-it.

Summary
Clark Kent has spent decades saving the world - long enough to believe he’s seen it all. Until Gotham’s new vigilante catches his attention.
Investigating the “Batman” should’ve been simple: another story for the Daily Planet, another mystery unraveled. But the deeper he looks, the clearer it becomes that Gotham’s masked knight isn’t just a mystery. He’s Bruce Wayne - young, brilliant, and carrying the kind of loneliness Clark remembers all too well.
What begins as curiosity turns into something else when Bruce’s excuses for lingering around Metropolis start pointing towards one thing.
Or: an older Superman meets a younger Batman, and they learn that sometimes even heroes need saving - and that not every kind of heat comes from battle

Summary
After the murder of his wife and daughter, Patrick Jane disappears into a psychiatric clinic, consumed by grief and obsession. Shortly before he joins the CBI, his therapist sends him to an isolated manor outside Princeton, where another survivor has spent years trying to rebuild a life from the ruins. Dr. Joanna Ashford is a former astrophysicist and historian whose own encounter with a monster left scars every bit as deep as Jane's. She has no intention of curing him, forgiving him, or talking him out of hunting Red John. Instead, she teaches him something far more dangerous: how to think again. A story about grief, intellect, healing, and a quiet week that might explain how the broken man who left the psychiatric hospital became the Patrick Jane who first walked into the CBI.

A slightly-younger Neal went to prison. Learning that made all the difference. Friendship, found family, lots of hurt-comfort.
