Least Expected
"Of all joys, this is the least expected!"
-- Aragorn, The Passing of the Grey CompanyWelcome to Least Expected! This collection holds works originally at the Least Expected archive. Least Expected was the first Tolkien fanfiction archive that welcomed slash fanfic. It was associated with the tolkien_slash email list and was active from September 1999 through February 2002, with a total of just under 900 stories. Many of the stories in its archive don't exist anywhere else.
Since its purpose is to preserve the history of Tolkien fandom, Least Expected is closed to new works.
The import of this archive to the AO3 was approved by the OTW Open Doors Committee on 10 October 2016.
