Severus knew what love felt like. Was well acquainted with the embarrassing, desperate curl of longing in his chest. The need. The way you suddenly feel tilted just slightly off your own axis.
He also knew you weren't supposed to feel it for your student. An insolent child you'd vowed to protect. Your best friend's son.
Severus let a puff of air pass his lips. An amused breath. He's never been one to deny himself his wants. Unfortunately for the boy.
Or fortunately, given the whine stuck in Potter's throat.
“Knees,” he said.

One morning, however, The Daily Prophet informs him the brat has gotten himself into trouble again – and, apparently, disappeared. Before Severus even has the time to roll his eyes at this news, he is rudely interrupted…
