Grian is a bored detective, and a known asshole to everyone around him, tasked with solving a case of a string of murders, one’s he himself committed. It’s the perfect plan, until someone witnesses him.

Mumbo wakes, finding himself stranded in a strange, flat world with a glaring red sun always directly above him. He compulsively builds redstone circuits, barely realizing the deadly traps he's creating. When his friends arrive to bring him home, the acts he commits prove how far gone he is and how long it will take for him to return, fully, from the hollow world of the red sun.

“What’s your name?”
The kid frowns at him. Finally, slowly, he says, “Mumbo?”
That’s- that sounds- it can’t be- “Not Jumbolio?” Grian asks, straightening.
“No,” Mumbo says, and Grian sinks back, groaning.
“Aw, great,” he whines. “I’m just looking for someone who knows redstone, and I think I’ve got the kid, but instead it’s just you.”

Grian isn’t panicking.
There’s nothing to panic about, okay? He’s fine. He’s absolutely, totally, fine.
Sure, he- he might not know where he is, and he might not have his communicator, and he might be pretty certain that Pearl and Joel and Jimmy are going to think that he just left, that he chickened out, but-
He’s-
Fine.

Scar liked his gift.
Scar likes him.
Grian’s heart feels full, the two of them beside him, and he isn’t sure what to call it yet-
Other than safety. Other than that here, with them both, he feels like nothing in the world could ever get him.Or: Before, During, and After.

Summary
The great King of Hermitcraft, TFC, has passed away without any heirs. In his will, he outlined a plan for each group of magicians in the kingdom to send one representative to compete for the throne. As the resident outcasts, Mumbo, Xelqua, and Scar team up to try and break through the ranks of the magical competition. But with the competition heating up, and all the residents forced to live together, the stress forms alliances and enemies amongst the competition. The trio each have their own dirty laundry to hide from the contestants, but it's only a matter of time until the truth comes out and ruins everything.

This is based off 'The Red Sun Never Sets' by: Pearlaina, but this is my own story, I was just inspired by their fic.
Mumbo just wants to get on with his Redstone without interruption, what happens when this wish comes true? Will Grian ever get his boyfriend and best friend back?
