Hey, I heard you were looking for a place to stay. My roommate also moved out recently so I have a room open.
“You’re shitting me,” said Kaveh.
“What?” Cyno tilted his head.
Kaveh held out his phone. Cyno and Tighnari leaned over until the sides of their heads were touching as they read the message.
Tighnari jerked away. “Al-Haitham sent you that?”
“I didn’t know he had it in him,” said Cyno.
“Had what?”
“A charitable soul.”
Kaveh needs a place to stay senior year of college and Al-Haitham has an open spot.

Breathe in, breathe out.
Biting cold stung Chongyun’s ears and nose, wind whipping at his face and torso. He was just glad Xingqiu wasn’t here to see him right now. Chongyun the popsicle, he would say. You are what you eat, my dear friend!
Chongyun and Xingqiu. Like that would ever happen. Until he found a way to rid himself of his Yang energy, he would just be a burden.
Maybe that was why he made such a risky plan up on Dragonspine. He needed to see how much it took to finally be in control. With shaking arms and legs, he reached the edge of the freezing lake. The world grew dark, hazy. Everything was just… numb.

“I thought you said you could resist me.” Kaveh playfully knees Alhaitham in the stomach with a teasing expression.
Alhaitham tries to think of an excuse. He really does. But with Kaveh staring at him with reddened lips, his chest still heaving from the previous events, all he can admit is, “I lied.”
People tend to wonder how Alhaitham can resist Kaveh. The answer is that he can't. Rather, he fails miserably trying.

People keep coming up to Kaveh to congratulate him. Kaveh doesn’t really know why, and he’s a little too scared to ask at this point, so he heads back home, content if not a little bemused.
He is, unfortunately, reminded of it the very next day, when the door slams open and Al-Haitham stalks in. “Mind telling me why everyone was congratulating me today?” he demands. “About your pregnancy?"
Or: Al-Haitham is, without a doubt, the most annoying person Kaveh knows. Maybe the world’s second-most annoying person can help Kaveh figure him out.

“Al-Haitham, what—”
He freezes.
There is a child in Al-Haitham’s covers, on Al-Haitham’s bed. A child. They can’t be older than two or three from how tiny they are. Their hair is a messy bird’s nest of gray strands, and their hands are small—gripped tight to Al-Haitham’s sheets. The child is drowning in the shirt they have on, the sleeves reaching their elbows and the collar drooping over their chest. For one nonsensical moment, Kaveh thinks, Al-Haitham never told him he had a child.
(Al-Haitham turns into a kid. It goes about as well as you’d expect.)
