…That Niall planned alone? Because Louis seemed just as shocked as he was. No way he was in on it.
And all things considered, the photo looked the part. It was faded, and more than a bit yellowed. Not to mention crumpled from years of sitting up there in the attic- According to Niall, at least.
Maybe it wasn’t really a prank, but Harry didn’t want to believe that. He was doing everything he could to convince himself otherwise.
It didn’t help, however, that the memory- if that is what it was- of taking the photo on Louis’ birthday evening was coming back to him. Some recollection was.

Louis scrunched his nose a bit and looked over towards where the quacking seemed to be getting louder. “I don’t. My sister sent me to the discord without explaining what was so special about the town’s ducks, and when I went to ask about it, I somehow got roped into helping you here tonight instead, so…”
Diego laughed before he looked up and down the road, where several cars were still making their way around. “This is going to be fun for you, then.”

Harry needs to practise his sermon reading, and Louis is happy to help him in the pulpit. It's getting harder for Harry to admit he doesn't want Louis spiritually.
Louis squirms against the pulpit, as though trying to turn around, but Harry keeps a firm press on his back, pinning him against the wood. “Can’t see the crucifix,” Louis groans out, eventually. It’s only then that Harry realises this is the first time their activities haven’t centred around the crucifix, around the reminder of God’s omnipotence. He can’t find it in himself to care.
Moving his hand down towards Louis’ neck, he wraps his fingers around it, dragging Louis upwards so that he can continue to kiss up and down his neck with each thrust. “You’re mine, little lamb. Not God’s, yeah? Just mine.”
