The kid needs all the physical comfort now beside the emotional and while Darius is gonna provide the emotional with the swimming, he can give some more physical.
Eber sniffed that kid real good in the first few days to remember his scent cause emotions are running high and who knows what might happen. Good thing that he did.

Oh yeah, he is talking about everything. He is not letting that kid slip through his fingers cause it almost happened AGAIN and it could have ended up so badly, he could have drowned. Darius might not be showing it rn, but he is gonna have a good breakdown about it later when he is alone.
All those scenes of them hugging in the water is literally the sole reason I wrote this fic 😭 I really wanted Darius to help him with his fear and just hold him while they float.
He is a gift giver, he listens to what ppl like and tries to give it to them in whatever way possible. And Hunter is his most likely recipient these days.
Now that he is actually calm, he can talk to and tease Darius properly and actually have a good time. He is not gonna be thinking of drowning next time but of Darius holding him and supporting his weight through the whole thing.

Yeah its not just the water thats the issue, its that its connected to Belos too closely. Even the feeling of it can be close to Belos' sludge which he is all too familiar with. He needed to separate them so he doesnt associate them with each other. And after all, hes always been interested in the Isles, in the flora and fauna cause this is his home and he can finally enjoy its riches instead of being cooped up in the castle.
The title is,,,a lot of things 😭 Frankly I did struggle with naming this fic but since I needed to make Lake Lacuna unique in some way, i decided to make it a beach glass lake. Yk those shores that have glass from bottles all over but its smoothed and made pretty by the waves and is basically part of the natural landscape now. And lake glass unlike sea glass is clearer and less frosted looking cause no salt in the water. Ig in many ways it just reminded me of Hunter, that even if he feels like he is unnatural and not part of the lanscape much like he felt in the bathroom, he is actually part of it and is unqiue in his own way. In the end when he was finally able to appreciate the beauty of the nature around him, that includes the lake glass and himself by extension (yk i might have to put this in authors note 😭)
