Summary
When Susan returns from Narnia the second time she gives herself a week to mourn. Once again she has been taken from the world where she truly belongs. The first time was the worst, they spent so many years there, but time does not matter. It is just as bitter this time. Maybe more, because this time she knows she will never go back. Well. She has always been called practical, no matter how much she may hate it. Time to put that to good use. Once a Queen of Narnia, always a Queen of Narnia.

When the first dream first starts Susan doesn't realize that she is dreaming at all. After all, she is back home, in Narnia, where she belongs. Why would she question that? But then the dream quickly turns into a nightmare, sending her reeling. Living in a strange land is hard. Moving on is harder.

Summary
Susan may be feeling adrift and alone, but that doesn't mean she is. Edmund is there to support her when everyone else seems to turn away. He had before and he does now. He is her favorite sibling for a reason after all. Even if doesn't want to open up, her is there. Plus he plays a good game of chess. That helps as well.

Summary
Susan's mother joins her as she is getting ready for the party. The party, supposedly to lift morale, that is more of a chance to unwind and let the sons and daughters flirt. That is certainly on her Mother's mind enough, as she soon begins naming them as she helps Susan get ready. Susan understands of course. This is her mother's duty. This is something she can still do, even for a daughter so changed from something she doesn't know anything about. That doesn't mean it is necessarily easy to bear though. It never is.
