Summary
Patrick figured that, after breaking off his engagement seemingly out of nowhere to his girlfriend of more or less fifteen years, running away to a small town in rural Ontario, speaking to virtually no one for the better part of two years, only to announce yet another engagement to someone who was very much not Rachel, let alone a woman, some of the people in his family would be a bit apprehensive. Hesitant. He thought that, understandably, they maybe wouldn’t fully understand it, but he at least expected them to support him.
He doesn’t need them to understand, but he would like them to have the smallest amount of faith in him.
