Summary
After Intervention (season 5) Spike is in a lot of pain.
As in Might-Very-Well-Just-Die pain.
This work is canon-compliant, except when it isn't.
Because, while Buffy agreed that Spike SHOULD be rewarded for his heroic sacrifice, she did NOT come to his crypt to reward him with a kiss.
Xander came instead.
And then things got VERY interesting...

Summary
It is Season 5. Joss Whedon has created a high-stakes plot in which Buffy and the Scoobies face a GOD. Not a demon, an actual god. The only solution to this god-problem, as far as they know, is to sacrifice Dawn to save the whole world. Since this is not an option, the audience waits with bated breath to see what the solution really is.
The breath is well bated, because... the season finale? It might NOT be the end of the season, it MIGHT be the end of the show. The Network (the WB if you have forgotten) may very well be ready to pull the plug.

Summary
It is Season 5.
Joss Whedon has created a high-stakes plot in which Buffy and the Scoobies face a GOD.
Not a demon, an actual god. This is not a the Standard Villain-Of-The-Week badguy. It's not even a Villain-Of-The-Season badguy. This badguy might fall at the end of the season - but it MIGHT fall at the end of the SHOW.
The only solution to this god-problem, as far as the Scoobies know, is to sacrifice Dawn to save the whole world. Since this is not an option, they are TRYING to figure out something else.
They are prepared to go down fighting. *All* of them.
The audience waits with bated breath to see if they really will, all of them, die.
Because rumor has it that the season finale might NOT be the end of the season, it MIGHT be the end of the show. The Network (the WB if you have forgotten) may very well be ready to pull the plug.
This story was *always* going to be canon-compliant.
(But - spoiler alert - my betareader on LiveJournal asked for a happy ending. And, for that reason, this story WILL stop being canon-compliant right up until the moment that it isn't.)

Summary
For the past 7 books, Xander has been having an affair.
The justification? The World Was About To End.
And it really was. Going to end. Glory had a solid plan, and Buffy wasn't prepared to do the simple thing that would thwart the plan. And so they set out to do the Impossible... keep Dawn alive AND keep the world from ending at the same time. Under those specific set of circumstances... well... why NOT have a torrid affair with a passionate, sexy vampire?
But the affair is over. The Bloodclaim-fueled-obsession is over as well. Xander is closing the door on that part of his life, and moving on with the NEXT part of his life. The part where he, and all of his friends (and probably all of the world) dies.
That won't be hard.
It will be too complicated to be hard.

Summary
This means nothing. It has not happened. It is an "imaginary story" like they used to do in the Superman comics.
This is how the imaginary story goes.
1) Spike has left Xander for a while.
2) A mournful Xander has held on to those poems Spike wrote - ALL of them.
3) Xander shows the poems to someone else... with mixed results.Series

Summary
Welcome to an old Live Journal story in which I asked for haikus about Spander, my favorite ship.
This is a scene that takes place in the Xander On The Menu universe. During that story Spike was writing complicated poems, called Sextinas, and leaving them for Xander to find. You can find the poems (and the story) on the All The Buffy Fanfic Witchway Has Written series here:
