“I’d like you to stay another week, Aizawa,” the doctor said in a voice that sounded like it was seldom disagreed with. “You need to stay another week,” he reiterated.
“I’ve already been here a week,” Aizawa replied. He was tired of the room. Tired of the constant ‘in and out’ of nurses and doctors and visitors. Tired of the machine beeps that kept waking him. How was he supposed to heal if he couldn’t sleep?
“I’m making a note that I don’t agree with your release. You’ll have to sign forms saying you are leaving despite my recommendations.”
Aizawa couldn’t sign anything in his condition. “I give verbal consent that I’m leaving against medical advice. Now cut me loose, doctor.”

To most people this too-even tone didn’t offer anything, but Shinso had trained with Aizawa-sensei long enough to know his words spoke for themselves and didn’t need to be framed by flowery lilts or harsh reprimand. "You almost had it." Did he really though? Because he felt like he had improved very little the last couple of weeks.

These Nomu lived to torture. But it was known that if you passed out, they’d kill you. Deku was already pretty badly messed up before we got chained together so I was trying not to lose it. If these Nomu can’t have their fun, it’s over. And Deku had gone really quiet all of a sudden. How do I keep him awake? The inspirational stuff hadn’t worked. I tried. I was never much for words of encouragement anyhow. Maybe I could try to get him angry. But this was Deku. How would I do that? Especially considering we were friends now. Think, you idiot. You’re at the top of the class, you can figure something out. Wait. Ochako. That was how to get it done. Yes, that’s brilliant.
“I’ve always had a thing for Pink Cheeks…” I said loudly to be sure that Deku could hear me.
