Summary
Martin remembers, with crystal clarity, the first time that he saw Jonathan Sims. Martin’s tea shop opens at seven in the morning to accommodate the morning commuter crowd, but they’re really busiest in the afternoon, which is when most people deign to take a break from whatever work they’ve got for the day.
Jonathan Sims is not most people.

Summary
The tea warms Jon from the inside out and tastes like spring mornings and summer sunsets and Martin, Martin, Martin. With the lingering taste of rosehip on his lips, Jon says, “It… it reminds me of you.”
Martin makes a small, choked noise. “Y- yeah? Does… does that mean it’s good?”
Softly, Jon says, “How could it not be?”
“Oh,” Martin says, just as softly.

Summary
Once they get to Jon's flat, they reheat leftover pesto pasta from a few nights ago before settling down on the couch together. Jon puts on a movie that one of his coworkers, Melanie, has apparently recommended that he watch. It’s a strange mix between a paranormal thriller and a romantic comedy, and Martin loses the storyline within the first few minutes. He still finds the experience vaguely enjoyable, if only because Jon is clearly enraptured, his typically ceaseless commentary nearly silent.
He sees the sex scene coming before it actually happens. The camera angles become more intimate, the lighting darker and more dramatic, and there’s a gravity to the scene that slowly turns Martin’s idle enjoyment into tense anticipation. There’s a kiss—the type that looks like it would be altogether too wet to be enjoyable—and then there’s a bed, and Martin feels the discomfort set in in full.
.
Or, Jon and Martin have a conversation during movie night about what asexuality looks like for them.
