A laugh bubbles up, something deep from the inside. And then Hoseok is laughing so hard that he has to catch his breath. "Because for once in my damned life, it is me whose luck is greater than anyone else's."
He can feel how Jungkook shifts on his feet next to him. He must be uncomfortable, for Elves never use their magic nor violence to get what they want, but at this moment, Hoseok doesn't care.
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're the drunk one instead of me," Yoongi mutters. The look in his eyes changes and Hoseok sees it immediately. He can't quite place the emotion, because he has never seen it in Yoongi's eyes, but Hoseok feels one thing very strongly now: victory. He has Yoongi exactly where he wants him to be. At his mercy. Not fully, but he's getting there.
"Oh Yoongi, dear Yoongi. I am not drunk. Not on alcohol at least," Hoseok smirks. No, he's drunk on adrenaline, on revenge, on power.
