The casting call suggested that the actors for the role should be 'tall, brunette, athletic and muscley'. That fact didn't stop Stiles from auditioning several men who didn't fit the description, however, they were perfect in their own way.
The next audition was for American sweetheart Derek Hale. From watching him talk and the fact that he hasn't had many acting gigs despite the enormous success of his last show, Stiles suspected he wasn't a very good actor. Though, Stiles thought, a good casting director has to think outside the box and the guy was hot and honestly looked the part.
