Summary
Koushi’s world falls down around him, torn apart by the hands of a man whose touch no one seems able (or willing) to protect him from, blackened and dying beneath the weight of bite marks and creaking beds and forced silence.
Daichi’s world is Koushi, and he watches over days that turn into weeks as that world darkens and fades, the light flickering out in the other boy’s eyes for reasons he refuses to divulge. Daichi would give anything to turn things back to the way they were before, and by the time it’s all said and done, he might have to give everything.
(Or, Koushi learns he has to crumble for a while before he shatters, and Daichi learns what it means to be strong.)

Summary
If a year and a half of riding the bench has taught Koushi anything, it’s that he can shove as many of his own feelings down as he likes if he focuses on everything else but what’s going on inside him.
Emotions like these are strange and unpredictable and downright unnecessary now that the worst of things has passed, but if he can just keep himself busy enough, pay those emotions no mind, then surely they’ll go away on their own.
(Or, all the times Koushi’s past comes back to haunt him, and the one time it doesn’t.)
