Summary
It is the middle of the summer, Holly Potter is waiting nervously for a visit from Professor Dumbledore himself. One of the last times she saw the Headmaster was in a fierce one-to-one duel with Lord Voldemort, and Holly is full of questions. Why is the Professor coming to visit her now? What is it that cannot wait until Holly returns to Hogwarts in a few weeks' time? Holly's sixth year at Hogwarts has already got off to an unusual start, as the worlds of Muggle and magic start to intertwine....
Alas, this is not the adult-bashing, protagonists are omniscient sassy youths who are both cool but somehow also misfits, a/u you were looking for. Admittedly, they are perhaps more popular than canon. Certainly less cis than joanne intended...

Summary
This fic was initially started in my mid-teens, hence a fair bit of cringey writing. I had also little idea where I was taking it, so by the time I had an idea, I was 6 "years" in and somewhat constrained by what I could and couldn't change. Rather than try to salvage something from that burning skip (did you leave your phone in that skip? oh shit), I'm slowly going through and revising the fic. The aim is to slowly weave those plots in earlier into the story, instead of their clunky addition via retcon as was looking likely. This is a slow-burn au, divergence from canon will be gradual and won't go to the extremes like some fics. With that in mind, the first 2 years are summarised here in those parts that are different to the original canon, such as the introduction of ocs (if ocs aren't your jam...well I do this for myself mostly soooo...), and tidbits of worldbuilding and Dumbledore being not quite so neglectful.

Summary
The summer holidays seem never-ending and Holly Potter can't wait for the start of the school term. It is her fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and there are spells to learn and (sadly) Potions and Divination lessons to attend. To cap it all off, hormones are making a mockery of sense and sensibility, and Holly could find herself in a quandary as her friends uncover frightening new aspects to their lives. At least the visitors from other schools seem an interesting bunch.
But Holly needs to be on her guard at all times- her worst enemy is preparing a horrifying fate for her...Revision of an earlier fic of the same name. This follows on from my revision of "and the Animagus"
