Summary
Zhongli and Childe have been enjoying domestic bliss for over a decade now, first getting married and then having their son. Their boy, an excitable ball of energy named Shuo, is the greatest thing in Childe's life. He'd do anything to keep him safe.
But soon enough disaster strikes. The Abyss has been growing stronger, eating away at the world, opening brief pockets more and more frequently to swallow up little children who aren't paying enough attention, and to close right back up before their fathers can run to catch them.
By a freak accident Shuo falls into the abyss, just as Childe did all those years ago, but at half the age with no battle training to speak of. With the addition of time distortion, every minute Childe and Zhongli spend in the overworld is an unknowable amount of time that their son has to fight for his life against the most horrific monsters Teyvat has ever known.
There is only one option. Enter the Abyss the long way. Fight their the way down. Find their boy, or else Shuo may never see the sun again.
(Very very very loosely based on Finding Nemo.)
