Summary
chan waves him over with a dimpled smile as he sits on the edge of what used to be a fountain but is now some sad looking concrete structure without water in it. jisung is walking over immediately and sitting down beside chan, who is looking much broader than him in his own thin jacket.
“it’s been a while,” chan says.
“been busy,” jisung lies.
chan nods like he understands—jisung knows that unlike himself, chan actually is busy with work and hobbies and projects and his friends.

Summary
changbin steps out of the way and makes room for jisung to enter the apartment seconds after he comes face to face with him. chan’s sitting on the couch looking surprised to see jisung and more surprised to see jisung holding bbama.
chan’s attempts to get through to jisung and offer the apartment as a space safe seem to have wormed their way into jisung’s subconscious. here he is, showing up uninvited at two in the morning. with bbama in hand just like chan said all those times he’s offered this space up to jisung.
“hey, sungie,” chan says lightly.

chan walks into the room and looks between them. he looks like he woke up not too long ago, judging by his unruly curly hair and the way he’s squinting at them. also his lips have that donald duck thing going for them.
“what’s going on?” he asks.
“i have sensory issues,” jisung smiles.
“he’s demanding condolences,” changbin informs chan.
“i’ve got like 5 bucks and a sandwich. how’s that?”

Summary
it’s not until jisung’s standing in line at an ice cream stand with their friend group, smiling and laughing and feeling so free that it finally hits him.
jisung could’ve been so happy and free all these years if his family had loved him a little more. if they’d been a little more respectful and willing to do something to make him happy and comfortable. if they’d wanted to be more understanding.
