Summary
When Dream promised George something aged 5, he wasn’t expecting it to actually come true. Unlike everything a child says, this was real. And it never stopped.
Dream slung a hand across his heart in mock shock. “George, you wound me. What if that’s the reason I asked you out in the first place?”
“Because you thought you could magically make me fall in love with you?”
Every now and then, he had to remind himself that that version of George was one that would never exist. He was playing out a film in his head, and its run time had to come to a close eventually.
“I thought, and I still do, that there’s no way you couldn’t fall in love with me.”
