Not even when Gojo almost died in Toji’s hand had he ever felt this much stress.
Stupid, fearless, naïve Nanami just had to march to the sea, approaching an emotionally unstable teenager with her powerful new curse energy and her powerful cursed blade pointed at him. Gojo is so angry at Nanami for being this way, for being foolishly self-righteous.
Gojo can slander Nanami in his head all he wants but the truth of it all came to the surface when Nanami steps forward to hug her, and she throws away the blade. Gojo gambles with other people’s lives, but Nanami gambles with his own. Quietly in his heart, Gojo cares for his students, even though he doesn’t often admit that for cases like these where he needed to kill them and treat them like a mission. Gojo will not have another failure like Geto. But Nanami free falls into jagged spikes hoping it’ll turn soft when he lands. Idiotic, and for all his self-acclaimed cowardice, Nanami is brave. For all his self-acclaimed weakness, Nanami is the strongest person he had ever seen, for having his heart bare even after everything.
Gojo sees him fall before Nanami’s knees even buckled. His heartbeat jumped seeing Nanami paled and limp in his arms. Gojo fixes Nanami’s shoulders right away, shamelessly enjoying how Nanami’s body is pressed against his, and how his arm finds home around Nanami’s waist. The wound is made by a cursed object, so it’s taking slower to even close up, and holy shit it’s a lot of blood.
