Summary
“You haven’t said anything in weeks and yet the first thing you say is this? Thanks very much, Venty, you really are an idiot extraordinaire,” despite the spasms that lingered in every fiber of his muscles, Vanitas really genuinely laughed because he had missed this so much. Just Ventus saying obvious things and Vanitas calling him out on his idiocy. No Xehanort. No Luxu. No Unversed or Lux or Reapers or Beloved Creations. Just him and his most precious person.
“I met Ava and Gula today,” Vanitas sighed as he rested on the cool floor, relaxing despite the hardness of the marble tiles. “Can you believe that they’re sorry for what they did to you? Fucking laughable.” Ventus didn’t say anything and Vanitas honestly didn’t know if he was even listening. But he stayed and that was all that mattered.
Eventually, he regained just enough strength to stand up on his own feet. He pulled Ventus onto the bed and cuddled him close.
“I won’t give you up. Not to them. Not to Luxu. Not to Xehanort. Not to anyone. We’ll survive this, you and me.”
Ventus hummed.--
A love story between two false gods of Xehanort's creation. Their darkest days.

Summary
“Um, Yuna,” he began, earning a slight ‘hm?’ from the kind lady in front of him. “This... may come as a surprise to you, but I don’t actually remember who I am...”
Yuna frowned.
“Really? Not even a name?”
The room was dark, he really cannot see a thing, but he felt utterly safe. He was being hugged by someone, his forehead resting on the crook of someone’s neck. They were trembling, but they were tight around him, as if afraid to let him go. It felt really warm, it felt really safe, he tried to whisper. A name. His name. He—
“...Van.” He found himself saying.
“Van? Is that your name?” He didn’t know. But it felt so precious. He guessed that names are kind of precious to people, right? He nodded, then shook his head, but then nodded again. Yuna frowned. “You’re not sure?” Another nod.
“Then Van will do. At least until you remember your real name.” He- Van smiled and whispered a quiet ‘thank you’ to Yuna for being so kind and understanding with him.

Summary
There he was. In another library, in another university- in a whole different life. But there Ventus Strife was, playing with his computer like nothing ever happened. It had taken Vanitas Valentine fourteen years to talk to him the first time, then another fifty with plenty of horrors (experiments, murders, and deaths... seen it all, did them all) to see Ventus Strife just as unchanging as that day in Radiant Garden University's library. He had the same white flowers, the same university getup, and the same nervousness and awkwardness he felt all those years ago before he had blood in his hands and Chirithy on his shoulders...
"I'm Vanitas Valentine," he said to the love of his life, who looked up at him with surprise written all over his face. "And you, Ventus Strife, are my goddamn soulmate."
Ventus Strife didn't say anything, didn't tell him off with harsh whispers of embarrassment as the library gawked at them both, but he knew that the idiot knew it too.
Lux and Unversed be damned, they are soulmates.
