Summary
There’s a new singer at the Hideout. Eddie falls hard, watching from where he’s sitting on the bar across the room, his beer almost slipping from his fingers. The singer’s voice is smooth and soft, and it makes the rest of the world go silent and Eddie’s head go cloudy.
The only problem is that Eddie recognises him from physics.

Steve stares back at him for a moment, his eyes flicking back and forth between Eddie’s, and then he’s stepping up close to him, and Eddie thinks for a second that he’s about to kiss him.
But he just presses two fingers into his chest, and Eddie forgets to breathe. Steve hesitates, his mouth opening with a soft breath, stammering, blinking hard in a way that means he’s trying not to cry.
“Come back to me.”
