I would say it's a bad idea to read it before reading chapter 278, maybe it's better to read the "Ishigami Wants to Gift" Short Story as well.

Summary

Can be considered a prequel to both the second half 278 and the "Ishigami Wants to Gift" Short Story, it contains spoilers for both. It's also a continuation for "Preludes to the War" and "An IshiMiko Carol", though I wouldn't say they are extremely necessary reads before starting this one.
